I took my sweetie girl Hazel Lou on a special holiday for just the two of us this weekend.
The impact its had on our relationship I can't accurately describe. It must be so hard for the eldest child to suddenly lose a big portion of their mother to someone else. We mended a lot of little misunderstandings and laughed til our bellies hurt. It was so beautiful.
Also beautiful was rural NSW.
Stunning in its drought stricken bareness, grass bleached to an unearthly white and trees looking bare ad silvery.
One of my closet friends lives in Walcha, a little arty town about 5.5 hours drive from Sydney (it took me 7 both ways but I stopped for pretty flowers along the way!).
The cattle farm they manage was beautiful and cold and their garden was incredible.
Whilst I answered no emails all weekend (sorry brides) I did poke around her Autumn garden and get an amazing variety of foliage, in 4 degree weather.
I loved, Hazel loved it, now I hope you love what I've done with the bits and pieces I collected!
